We meet this week both as national leaders and as

political thinkers. So many common challenges, common

objectives in interdependent world of 1980's. Wrong to

dwell on the outdates connotations which increasingly

obscure the meaning of theories of capitalism and

Marxism. Right to build together on common commitment to

radicalism, to reform, to reasonable solutions to real

problems. Of course, political philosophies different.

But equally, both agree to seek mutual enrichment in

cooperation.

Both countries share one great source of strength i:

facing challenges and opportunities of modern world.

More than most, conscious of our long histories, and the

rich values, traditions and lessons they bestow.

Understand one of your great personal interests is art o
