strictions, the

growth rate of Hong Kong's domestic exports and re-exports to China slowed down further in the third quarter of 1985. LL seems that the restrictions will stay for some time. Nevertheless, because of the spectacular growth in the first half of this year, the growth rates of domestic exports and re-exports to Chana for 1985 as a whole are still expected to be substantial. In the thiro quarter of 1985 Hong Kong ran a vicable trade deficit of HK$547 million with China. As a result, Hong Kong's visible trade surplus with China for the first three quarters of 1985 was reduced to HK$6.3 billion.
