Visible trade between Hong Kong and China

China remained Hong Kong's largest trading partner in the fourth quarter of 1985. Total visible

trade between Hong Kong and China, at HK$32,319 million,

increased by 12% over the fourth quarter 1984. For the

year as a whole, total visible trade between Hong Kong and China grew by 26% to HK$120,175 million.

18.-. In terms of Hong Kong's total domestic exports, China's share, as a market was 10% in the fourth quarter of 1985, compared with 13% in the first half of the year and 10% in the third quarter. China remained the largest market for Hong Kong's re-exports although its share declined during the year. In the fourth quarter of 1985,

re-exports to China accounted for 39% of total

re-exports. This compared with 47% in the first half of the year and 42% in the third quarter.
