You represent a commitment by America to the future of Hong Kong and China. Willy-nilly, you have also become important actors in this drama, and the cumulative effect of the individual commercial decisions you have made so far have helped to improve the political and economic climate here. Your Government owes you a note of thanks for contributing so importantly and directly to its objective of a strong and prosperous Hong Kong. I expect history to vindicate your judgment.
