1. Please refer to my minute of today's date to Dr Wilson, in the final paragraph of which I raised the question of a possible FCO contribution to future Chatham House work on China. I have discussed this with Mr Hall who has told me that he would be prepared to recommend a contribution of £1,000 from the RD part of the academic contacts budget. Would Planning Staff also wish to consider making a contribution to this project?
