Last year we inspired a PQ in order

Parliament of our intentions concerning the Annual Report. I believe it would make sense to give Parliament similar
warning of our intentions this year, particularly if it
was decided that the report should not be laid before
early 1987. There is the further consideration that in a
letter sent to Mr Paddy Ashdown MP on 31 July Mr Renton stated that the report would be published "towards the end of the year". (For what it is worth, I have said the same
to Lord Maclehose.) Before a PQ was answered Mr Renton
might wish to tell Mr Ashdown of our changed intentions:
