the Hong Kong Polytechnic. The royal couple then toured

a trade exhibition, featuring a wide-range of Hong Kong's

manufactured products, following which Her Majesty laid

the foundation stone of the Hong Kong Convention and

Exhibition Centre. In the evening the royal couple were

entertained by a variety spectacular involving 6,400 young

performers who played, sang, performed acrobatics, ballet

and traditional dance.
