Enclosure No. 2
HONG KONG
LEGAL REPORT
THE OATHS AND DECLARATIONS (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1986
(No. 32 of 1986)
This Ordinance amends the Oaths and Declarations Ordinance to remove the requirement that a member of the Executive Council must upon appointment take an oath of allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen and to provide that he may instead take an oath to uphold the law of Hong Kong and conscientiously and truly serve the people of Hong Kong as a member of the Executive Council.
2. Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
