Legco member Dr Helmut Sohmen: If foreign legal experts are hired to draw up the Basic Law, an objective draft can be completed speedily.
BLCC member Kenneth Chow: The hiring of foreign experts to draft the Basic Law will be an insult to China. Local people's confidence will be seriously affected if drastic changes which are unacceptable to the territory are proposed and rejected.
