The HK Daily News: The delegation led by Mr Lu Ping should spend more time with people from the legal profession and the judiciary to gain a deeper understanding of the legal system and the spirit of rule of law.

The Tin Tin Daily News: Most of the views express by "HK people" are put forward by those with vested interests and the best way to understand the genuine wishes of the people is for Mr Lu to meet people in the middle and lower classes.

Umelco member Maria Tam: If she has the chance to meet the delegation led by Mr Lu Ping, she will discuss with them the relationship between the Basic Law and China's constitution. She will also discuss with them the power of inter- preting and amending the Basic Law.

Legco member Poon

Chi-fai: It will be a good thing to arrange a meeting between the delegation led by Mr Lu Ping and the Umelco ad hoc group on the Basic Law.

BLDC member Justice

Simon Li: If he has the chance to meet the delegation led by Mr Lu Ping, he will stress to them the need to use both English and Chinese in local courts after 1997 and that HK should be given the power to interpret the Basic

Law.
