Peking today for an
exchange of views with Chinese officials on education matters and
the Basic Law.
(report) The BLCC placed an advertisement in the HK Standard and some Chinese-language papers today inviting
applications for the posts of Administrative Officer, Administrative Assistant, English Secretary, Research Officer and Clerk. All these posts, except the post of clerk, required a university degree or equivalent. The
positions are for four years and are on two years contract basis with gratuity of 25 per cent of gross basic salary. The pay scale is not mentioned.
BLDC member Martin Lee: The first draft of the
Basic Law should be prepared by the BLCC rather than the drafting committee.
