Question: Will the Government inform this Council :

What is the average waiting time for patients attending Government out-patient clinics :

from the moment of their arrival at the clinic until they are allocated a number for treatment purposes; and

from the moment of allocation of a number for treatment purposes until such time as they are actually seen by a doctor on duty there;

Whether the average waiting time differs from clinic to clinic and from district to district; and

Whether it is possible to shorten such waiting time?

question are as follows :

As the distribution of the discs for

consultations is carried out about 5-10

minutes before each clinic session starts,

patients' waiting time largely depends on

their time of arrival at the clinic. This
