Roads (Work, Use and Compensation) Ordinance (Chapter 370)

PWP ITEM NO. 116th INTERSECTION OF CASTLE PEAK ROAD AND KWAI CHUNG ROAD, Improvement Stage II

I wish to refer to the above captioned gazette notice dated 22 February 1986, copy enclosed.

Our company, Weco Textiles Manufacturers Ltd. is operating a dyeing and printing factory at 502-510 Castle Road, Kwai Chung, N.T. i.e. Lot No. 719 R.P. in D.D. 450. We have been informed by the District Lands Office, Tsuen Wan, that our factory will be affected by the captioned road improvement project and be required to be resumed (Please refer to enclosed copy of letters from DLO, Tsuen Wan).

As a dyeing and printing operator, our company has been providing essential supporting services to the local textiles and garment industries. The resumption of the site on which our factory is situated will result in cessation of our operation, hence leading to loss of business. Moreover, we are forced to lay-off our existing employees and suffer great losses from the machinery/equipment if we are unable to find alternative premises to resume operation.

Whilst, being a Hong Kong company, we fully support development plan by the Government and do not raise any objection to the captioned project, we would wish to formally advise you of our concern that the project would inevitably affect our company both operationally and financially. In this respect, we will submit detailed accounts of our losses and put up a claim in accordance with the regulations in due course.

Yours sincerely,

Sam Ko

Director
