Ref.: (19) in HRO(H)FP49/JCN/WCH

I am most upset to know that your department has rejected my application for the issue of licence in respect of Stall No. 49 at Jardine's Crescent, and, therefore, want your department to review the aforesaid decision.

I have been selling eggs as a hawker since 1950, regarding it as my permanent profession. By now, a period of over 30 years has elapsed.. Members of my family are all along dependent on this stall. Apart from some experience in running a stall, I haven't got any special skill. I am not holding any licence. If your department remains firm in rejecting my application, then it is going to be impossible for me to earn a living because of the current hawker policies. The livelihood of my family will thus be affected.

Furthermore, I have been the stall assistant of Stall No. 48 of Jardine's Crescent for more than 10 years. When LAM Chun-man, the former licence-holder of Stall No. 49, was alive, I also worked for that stall as an assistant. Please give sympathetic consideration to my plight, review my application and favour me with approval as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

PIC/ac
