PREVENT CRIME CAMPAIGN
2.6
The 1985/86 Prevent Crime Campaign continued on the same major theme as the campaign for 1984/85 that is "Police and the People Fighting Crime Together". The emphasis was on urging the public to protect their own property by means of simple and basic security measures, and to assist the Police by reporting crime. The major innovation was the decision to launch the first phase of a territory wide "neighbourhood watch scheme", which the Fight Crime Committee endorsed on 17 May 1985.
