(h) all liquidated and unliquidated claims for which
a prescribed person would, but for this Ordinance,
have been liable shall be liquidated and
unliquidated claims, as the case may be, for
which the Crown shall be liable.
(2) Where by virtue of subsection (1) any person
is required to pay money to the Crown, that money shall
be paid into the general revenue.

Explanatory Memorandum
This Bill repeals the Emergency Relief Fund
The service provided under that Ordinance
for persons who suffer loss as a result of natural
disaster is to be absorbed into social security services for which the Government has assumed responsibility.

Clause 1 provides that the Bill will not come into operation until 1 April 1986 and hence the Emergency Relief Fund Ordinance will continue to exist until 31
March 1986.
3. Clause 2 defines terms used for the purposes of
the savings provisions of clauses 4, 5 and 6.
