Dr John Riddell-Swan, OBE, JP

Aged 59. Dr Riddell-Swan first joined the Hong

Kong civil service in May 1956 as a Veterinary Officer

in the Agriculture and Fisheries Department. He became

Assistant Director of Agriculture and Fisheries in

October 1964, and was further promoted to Deputy Director

of Agriculture and Fisheries in May 1971 and to his

present rank of Director of Agriculture and Fisheries

in February 1980. He will have completed 29 years of

service with the Hong Kong Government on his retirement

in March this year.

Dr Lawrence LEE Hay-yue, JP

Aged 48. Dr Lee joined the civil service in

June 1963 as an Assistant Pest Controller Officer. He

was promoted to Assistant Director of Agriculture and

Fisheries in February 1980 and to his present rank of

Deputy Director of Agriculture and Fisheries in July

1983.
