ICAC POSSIBLE CONTACTS WITH CHINA
1. Thank you for your letter of 13 March. We have enquired about the New York Conference from the MFA's International Organisations Department. The Chinese told us that they have yet to receive details of any such conference. Without information about the conference organisers the MFA were uncertain whether they could find out if any Chinese ministry was proposing to send a delegation. That said, they welcomed the news that ICAC would be sending a delegation, and added that should the Chinese authorities decide to participate in the conference, their delegation would welcome the chance to talk to the ICAC delegation in the margins of the conference.
2. Perhaps you could let us have some details about the conference organisers/host organisation and (if available) about other participating countries. We shall then return to the charge with the MFA.
