Recommendations
9.
In the light of the various factors described above it is
recommended that the proposals:
(a) to discontinue the requirement for
Administrative Officers to be of British
nationality; and
(b) to introduce new appointments criteria for
the Administrative Service along the lines.
of paragraphs 6 and 7 above;
should be broached as soon as possible with the Public Service
Commission and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Should there be
no objection from these quarters, Executive Council should be
informed of our intentions.
Publicity
10.
It is not recommended that any official statement
concerning these changes be made. A brief should however be
prepared in case of questions from the media, and the Administrative
Likely objection Service Association should be informed if and when changes are Legal willems?!
approved. Any new criteria for appointment would, of necessity
however, need to be included in due course in public advertisements
on vacancies for the post of Administrative Officer.
