Review of Directorate Salary Levels (Note: Distribution of this Circular is Scale 3 It should be rea by all Heads of Departments, Departmental Secretaries and officers dealing with personnel matters. It should also be brought to the attention of officers on the Directorate Pay Scales and directorate officers holding personal salaries.)

With the approval of the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council, the directorate salary levels are revised with effect from 1 August 1995. Details of the revised directorate pay scales are given in the attached appen/ix.

The pay of directorate officers holding "personal salaries" will be revised in accordance with the increases in the appropriate directorate pay scales. Details will be sent to departments separately.
Conversion arrangements

Pay will be converted on to the new dollar value for the same directorate point with effect from 1 August 1985 or the date of appointment, whichever is the later. Thereafter, any changes caused by promotion, transfers or in-service appointments will be based on the revised pay scales.
Acting allowances under CSR 178

Acting allowances granted since 1 August 1985 will be adjusted where these are expressed as a percentage of pay. Allowances granted under CSR 172(3) will continue to be paid at existing rates, but may be reviewed on departmental recommendation separately and any adjustments will be effected
later.
