Dear Sir,
I am directed to offer you appointment as an Inspector of Police in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force on overseas conditions of service and on the terms set out in this letter and in the attached "Memorandum on Conditions of Service for Overseas Police Inspectors" (G.F. 341 (P)), subject to the satisfactory completion of recruitment procedures.
The appointment will be on agreement for three years in the first instance, and you will be eligible for a gratuity in accordance with paragraph 19 of the Memorandum (G.F. 341 (P)).
This summary of the conditions of service applicable to officers serving in Hong Kong has been prepared as a guide to officers on first appointment. The omission of any fact from the summary does not, however, in any way, absolves an officer from the provision of regulations for the time being in force. It is the duty of every officer to acquaint himself as soon as possible after arrival in Hong Kong with Government regulations and such other instructions as may be applicable to his post.
The salary scale for the post of Police Inspector is as follows:

15,640 per month.
Salaries are paid in Hong Kong currency only and no adjustment is made for any variation in the rate of exchange between the Hong Kong dollar and the pound sterling.
