Secondly, OC/MOI reported there are no changes to the screening procedures at the district and provincial levels, but OC/MOI hopes to improve the standard of screening criteria to be in accordance with international standards. OC/MOI is currently studying the guidelines and criteria established by resettlement countries. There will be a meeting of Thai government agencies on 14 February 1985 to discuss this topic and the embassies concerned, will be informed of the content of the meeting at a later date.

Mr Tanee reported that OC/MOI is currently considering establishing skills training programs at Chieng Kham and Nakorn Phanom camps. While the OC/MOI intends to maintain the humane deterrance policy in these camps, Mr Tanee expressed concern regarding the large number of refugees who seemed to be wasting their time with nothing to do in the camps. Mr Tanee requested voluntary agencies interested in establishing such programs to send proposals to MOI for consideration and possible approval.

Mr Tanee requested voluntary agencies who have not yet submitted their program proposals for 1985 to OC/MOI for consideration to submit them as soon as possible. These proposals will be considered according to OC/MOI policy.

Ms Warunee reported that Colonel Sonan of the JOC/SC has requested the MOPH to care for Thai affected villagers near the Kampuchean border encampments. The MOPH wishes to thank UNBRO for its support of the mobile medical team operating in affected Thai villages in Surin Province. MOPH also has a project for mobile medical teams to work in another six provinces along the Thai-Kampuchean border.

Ms Warunee reported that MOPH will hold a Medical Subcommittee on Monday, 11 February 1985 and invited a representative from CCSDPT to attend.
