1. Anthony Woo, my colleague in the Hong Kong Office here has passed me the enclosed copy of an extract from their daily Hong Kong press round-up. The Hong Kong Standard has reported Mr Luce's meeting with SCORRI and the Minister's comment that "he is to hold talks with UNHCR in Geneva. Perhaps you would
confirm this intention and let us know the preferred timing so that we might make the arrangements for the call.
2. The item in the Standard also states that leading resettle- ment countries have been approached formally on the question of resettling Vietnamese refugees from Hong Kong but that they are reluctant to do more to help.
