One point has come up on which I would be grateful for your help. We do of course have access to the texts of all UK Acts of Parliament affecting Hong Kong but this is not the case with Orders-in-Council. Many are reproduced in Vols. 23-25 of the Laws of Hong Kong, but they are not grouped in subjects, they are not complete and in some cases they incorporate amending Orders of which we need the original texts. What in fact we need to have is copies of the original texts of all Orders, including the Explanatory Notes which are not printed in the Hong Kong Laws. We would be most grateful if you could find out for us whether the texts of Orders-in-Council are available, how we can get hold of them and how much they would cost. The earliest, by the way, is the Appeal to Privy Council Order of 1909. We will then be able to give you a list of the Orders that we actually require.
