Entry to France by Hong Kong BDTCs

As spoken, I enclose a copy of Stephen Kuo's letter of 28 May to Migration & Visa Department and enclosures.

As you know, our own enquiries confirm that the French Consulate in London is advising that visas are required and charging a fee in the case of (post 1983) BDTC passports whereas CUKC passports are endorsed without charge.

As regards the effect of this, I enclose a note by Victor Chann. Another tour operator (Jade Tours) issues each BDTC passport holder with a copy of the French Consulate General in Hong Kong's letter advising that visas are not required.
