BRITISH NATIONALITY ACT 1981: NATIONALITY DEFINITIONS IN TREATIES
1.
Copies are attached of a Note which has been sent to Diplomatic Missions in London anc of an explanatory letter to Whitehall departments.
2. FCO departments who are primarily responsible for a treaty (where no other Whitehall department is in the lead) should act as in paragraph 2 of the letter.
3.
Any proposals for the revision of treaties which are received by Posts should be referred to the FCO department mainly responsible for the subject matter with a copy to Nationality and Treaty Department.
