Hong Kong's continuing participation in MFA

Our paper explains our understanding of the position, ie that if Hong Kong were to become a separate Contracting Party to the GATT, its continuing participation in the MFA and in any succesor régime would be secured simply by notifying the GATT

Director-General of its wishes in this respect.

similar reasons and in accordance with similar procedures to those envisaged for the GATT, we think it would be advantageious

to Hong Kong up to and after 1997, to try and secure separate

membership for it in CCC.
