Finally, I agree that we should aim to firm up the UK's approach fairly soon. Like you, I see no advantage in prompting early discussion in the 113 Committee (nor is there any reason to believe that the Commission will be any keener than when I spoke to Leslie. Fielding in December). But it would be useful to find out a little more about the US position before we proceed too far. It might be a good idea to copy the latest papers to Brian Crowe for a view from Washington.
