MEMORANDUK OF CONCURRENCE AND ASSENT by the COLONIAL GOVERMENT

CF HONG KONG represented by His Excellency the Officer

Administering the Government (hereinafter referred to as the Governor) to HIS MAJESTY'S SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR represented

by His Excellency The General Officer Commanding the Troops in

China.

BE IT REMEMBERED that by a Memorandum of Transfer dated the twelfth day of April One thousand nine

hundred and ten and made between the parties here to the Governor acting for and on behalf of the Colonial Government transferred and made over to the Officer Commanding the Troops in South China who accepted the same on behalf of the Secretary of State for far the right of perpetual user until no longer required for War Department use as thereafter explained the whole of Stone Cutters Island subject to the conditions therein appearing one of which conditions was that in the event of the

Island or any part thereof being no longer required for Military purposes the same should revert to the Colonial Government in accordance with the Colonial Office Circulars of the 9th June 1890 and the 30th December 1894 but it was agreed that as regards the portion designated as the Remainder of the Island comprising 140 acres the amount to be credited to the War Department should be at the rate of one cent per square foot of land so reverting AND BE IT REMEMBERED that on the 18th May 1931

the Army Council for and on behalf of the Secretary or state for War transferred to the Lords

Commissioners for the Admiralty the piece or parcel of ground shewn on the plan annexed here to being a part of Stone Cutters Island and has granted the said Lords Commissioners facilities for storing

ammunition there under certain conditions in accordance with paragraph No. 202 of the Regulations for Engineer Services 1924 (referred to in letters from the Under Secretary of State War Office to the

Secretary of the Amiralty dated 31st January 1930, 11th February 1930 and 16th September 1930 No.118/ abroad/1714 D.L.18)

AND BE IT ALSO REMEMBERED that for the purpose of regulating the said transfer to the Lords Commissioners

of the Admiralty of the piece or parcel of ground shewn on the said plan annexed here to His Excellency

the Governor for and on behalf of the Colonial Government of Hong Kong DOTH hereby concur in and assent

to such transfer and the terms thereof to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty no twithstanding any

provision contained in the hereinbefore mentioned Memorandum of Transfer of the 12th day of April 1910.
