(report) NC NA HK director Xu Jiatun (in response to a press question on the implication of BLDC members sitting on Legco: There will be some overlap of duties and this will benefit HK's stability and prosperity.

NC NA HK director Xu Jiatun: The convenors of the BLCC has considered inviting HK Government officials to sit on the panel in their private capacity but details had yet to be finalised.

HK Daily News: The proposed system for the selection of BLCC members shows that the consultative panel will be more representative than DBS and Legco.

(report) A statement issued by BLDC members in HK: Letters will be sent to specified

organisations in a few days inviting them to recommend representatives to sit on the BLCC. Organisations are given three weeks to put forward their nominations. A list of

names are expected to be ready by November 23 and the BLCC is expected to be inaugurated in early December. The seats will be shared by eight sectors, namely, industry and commerce, financial and real estate, legal, other professionals, media sector, labour and grassroots organisations, religious groups and expatriates.
