Financial Daily: All
organs of the British/HK Goverment should be aware of the fact that

authority over the
collation of public views and that they themselves do not have the right to screen or assess public opinion they have collected.
Express: The setting up of the Basic Law drafting committee, the
Sino-British Joint
Liaison Group and the
Land Commission show that Peking fully understood the importance of maintaining HK people's confidence. Despite China's assurances that HK's status quo will be maintained, the future HK SAR will just be another special economic zone as China may alter the spirit of local laws through their own
interpretation.
The Association for the Advancement for Feminism said there should be better representation of women in the Basic Law consultative committee.
(report) An article in the Far Eastern Economic
Review said the formation
