Szeto Wah said a joint conference for the labour
sector on the Basic Law will be formed in about a month to discuss the structure and content of the Basic Law and the operation and
organisation of the Basic
Law consultative
committee.
Meeting Point chairman Lau Nai-keung said
drafting committee
members should only
promote instead of being
responsible for the
establishment of the
consultative committee. Consultative committee members should be allowed to attend drafting committee meetings so as to enhance communication between the two.
Chang Kar-mun of the New HK Society said the NCNA HK branch should contact those groups which have shown interest in taking part in the drafting of the Basic Law and help them choose their
representatives.
