Section 9.2 of the Constitution of the Basic Law Consultative Committee for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China provides that: "The number of members of the Executive Committee shall not be less than 15 and not more than 19. been worked out as follows :
1. Number of Members of the Executive Committee
The number of
members of the Executive Committee is fixed at 19.
2. Method of Nominating Candidates for Election to the Executive
Committee.
a) Each member of the Consultative Committee can nominate not
more than 10 candidates. (If he/she nominates more than 10 candidates, his/her nomination will be invalidated.) No seconders from the Consultative Committee are needed for
the nomination.
b) Members of the Consultative Committee can nominate themselves
as candidates.
c) After completion, nomination forms should be returned to the Ad Hoc Group of Conveners via the Organizing Office of the Consultative Committee. Members who fail to forward the...' nomination forms to the group will be considered as having
abstained from nominating.
