Draft Constitution of the Basic Law Consultative Committee
1.
Origin
The Basic Law Consultative Committee is to
be set up in Hong Kong following the decision
of the Basic Law Drafting Committee (hereinafter
referred to as 'Drafting Committee') at its
first meeting. This advisory body should be
able to represent a wide cross section of the
ccrmunity. Members of the Drafting Committee
in Hong Kong are asked to initiate and organize
this advisory body, with assistance from the
Hor.g Kong Branch of the New China News Agency.
2.
Name
This advisory body will be called the Basic
Law Consultative Committee of the Hong Kong
Special Administrative Region of the People's
Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as 'Consultative Committee').
3. Address
The office of the Consultative Committee
will be set up in Hong Kong.
4.
Nature
The Consultative Committee will be a body
made up of members of the public.
