The House has recently had several opportunities to
debate Hong Kong very fully in the context of the Hong
Kong Act. I am happy to say that reactions in Hong Kong
to the agreement continue to be good: the Hong Kong
dollar is strong and the

the Home Affairs Sub-Committee on Race Relations and
Immigration concerning the problem of the 11,200
Vietnamese refugees who are in Hong Kong, and will give
our response to the House
as soon as possible.
