7. Hong Kong Act has now received Royal Assent. Precise date of

ratification not yet fixed but must be before 30 June.

Joint Liaison Group and Land Commission will be established once

agreement has come into force.

Details relating to their

establishment under discussion with the Chinese. Composition will

be announced in due course. Jay

Speculation about individuals who might be members of the
