CALL OF CHINESE AMBASSADOR ON SECRETARY OF STATE : HONG KONG
1.
I understand that the Chinese Ambassador will be calling on the
Secretary of State on 19 April. Although this will be a largely formal occasion I believe it would provide a good opportunity to get
across to the Chinese how serious an issue participation of a BDTC
in the Joint Liaison Group is for us.
I submit a draft
on
supplementary brief which the Secretary of State may wish to draw
at the meeting. As the Chinese Ambassador will have come fresh from
Peking he should be well briefed on this issue.
