9. The UK's largest ever trade promotion event in Hong Kong entitled 'Britain Today' was staged between 16 October - 4 November

last year, and coincided with a major West Midlands Trade Festival.

It linked trade-related, cultural and sporting events under one umbrella. HRH Duke of Kent and Mr John Butcher, PUSS, DTI attended.

In all, twenty one British Trade Missions visited Hong Kong in 1984.

Lord Young and his high level Trade Mission visited Hong Kong in

March 1985 after their visit to China and several trade related

Ministerial visits are planned for this autumn including the

Secretary of State for Transport, Mr Ridley, the PUSS at the DTI, Mr

Fletcher, and, possibly, the Minister of State at the DTI, Mr

Pattie.
