1. Little to add since report.

Hong Kong Bill has now been approved by both House of Commons and
House of Lords. Remains only for Royal Assent to be granted. Reports
that Chinese National Peoples Congress to discuss agreement in April.
No date yet fixed for ratification of agreement, but must be before
30 June 1985.
3. Joint Liaison Group and Land Commission to be set up after entry into force of agreement. Discussing details of both groups with
Chinese.
4.
Encouraging economic indicators in Hong Kong illustrate confidence
in future of the territory, following signature of the Agreement.
