VISIT BY INDUSTRY AND TRADE SELECT COMMITTEE TO CHINA AND HONG KONG
1. As you are already aware, the Select Committee on Industry and Trade will be visiting China and Hong Kong from 25 April-10 May in connection with its enquiry into UK Trade with China.
2. The Committee is receiving an oral briefing from the Commercial Counsellor in Peking at 3.30 pm on Tuesday 23 April at the House of Commons. The Members would also be grateful however for a general political background brief on China and Hong Kong in advance of the oral briefing. Could you please therefore let me have this, in unclassified form if possible, by NOON on Friday 19 April.
