On his return to the office today, John Grainger suggested some minor amendments to the 30 August version of the draft White Paper. The amendments are set out below and we re incorporated
into the text which we telegraphed to Hong Kong today:
(a) Para 4,
second sentence.
In the sentence in brackets we
inserted the words "up to" after "or" and before "31 December 1997" ;
(b) Para 5, second sentence. Ditto;

Para 6 second sentence.
