(a) at the time of his birth, his father or mother

was a British Dependent Territories citizen

serving outside the dependent territories

-

(i) in Crown Service under the Government of

Hong Kong; or

(ii) in service on secondment from Crown

Service under the Government of Hong Kong;

or

(iii) in service under the Hong Kong Tourist

Association;

or

(iv) in service under the Hong Kong Tourist Board;

or

(e) at the time of the birth of the father or mother of

the person concerned, one of his grandparents was a

citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies or a

British Dependent Territories citizen, as the case

may be, by virtue of his having a connection with

Hong Kong as otherwise specified in this Article;

(2) the "relevant date" means 1st July 1997.

3.

Any person who, immediately before the relevant date,

(a) is a British Dependent Territories citizen by

virtue (wholly or partly) of his having a

connection with Hong Kong; and

(b) but for his having a connection with Hong Kong

would not be a British Dependent Territories

citizen,

shall on that date cease to be such a citizen.
