DRAFT HONG KONG (BRITISH NATIONALITY) ORDER 1985
1. This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong (British Nationality)
Order 1985 and shall come into operation on
1985.
2.
For the purposes of this Order
(1)
a person shall be taken to have a connection with
Hong Kong if
(a) he, his father or his mother
(i)
(ii)
was born in Hong Kong or was found
abandoned there as a newborn infant;
was adopted in Hong Kong; or
(iii) was naturalised or registered in
Hong Kong; or
(b) he, his father or his mother was naturalised
(c)
or registered outside Hong Kong on an
application based on any of the following
(i)
residence wholly or mainly in Hong Kong;
(ii) service in Crown Service wholly or mainly
under the Government of Hong Kong;
(iii) descent in the male line from a person who
was born or naturalised in Hong Kong;
marriage to a person who is a British
Dependent Territories citizen by virtue
(iv)
of his having a connection with Hong Kong
as otherwise specified in this Article; or
at the time of his birth his father or mother was
settled in Hong Kong; or
