that date a British Overseas citizen.
(3) Where a person born on or after the relevant date would,
but for this paragraph, be born stateless, then, if at the time of
the birth his father or mother is a British National (Overseas) or a
British Overseas citizen by virtue of paragraph (1) above, he shalll
be a British Overseas citizen.
(4) A person who is a British Overseas citizen by virtue of
paragraph (1) or (2) above shall cease to be such a citizen if, in
whatever cirums tances and whether under the British Nationality Act
1981 or otherwise, he acquires any other citizenship or nationality
whatever.
7. (1) The following provisions or the British Nationality Act
1981 shall apply for the purposes of this Order as they apply for
the purposes of that Act, namely
(a)
Section 41 (regulations and Orders in Council), so far as it relates to the making of regulations,, but as if in sub-section
(1)(i) for the words between "deaths of" and "born" there were
substituted the words "British Nationals (Overseas)";
(b)
Section 42 (registration and naturalisation: general
provisions), so far as it relates to registration, but as if -
(c)
-
(i) in sub-sections (1) and (3), for the words "citizen of any
description or as a British subject" there were
substituted the words "British National (Overseas)";
(ii)
in sub-section (4), for the words between "this Act as a"
and "as from the date", there were inserted the words
"British National (Overseas) shall have that status";
Section 43 (exercise of functions of Secretary of State by Governors and others), so far as it relates to registration,
renunciation and deprivation, but as if the reference to British
Dependent Territories citizens were a reference to British Nationals
(Overseas) and the references to British citizenship and British
