HMG have agreed allocation
allocation of £2 million for 1985/6 for
Hong Kong overseas student support scheme. Decision on 1986/87
to be made towards the end of the year.
Points to make to Hong Kong Government Officials
DEFENSIVE

No question of HMG reneging оп its original commitment.
However financial constraints have dictated cut in
student support across the board.

Decision on 1986/87 funding to be made when actual figures
for 1985/86 are available.
