MINISTERIAL VISITS
1.
I attended the meeting of the Ministerial Visits Sub Committee today.
2. I had discussed first with PS/Mr Luce your minute of 25 April (too late obviously to be submitted through me to Mr Gibbs before the meeting). In the light of that discussion I proposed two visits by Mr Luce. One would be in September and would combine China and Thailand. other would be in October (probably from 26 October) and would combine Hong Kong and Indonesia (for the Heads of Mission Conference). Brunei should be kept in reserve depending on the situation nearer the time.

3. I did not argue for Malaysia (which was not in fact on the consolidated list of earlier suggestions) as it has, I think, been adequately covered recently by by the Prime Minister and Mr Luce himself.
