CHINA RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The tasks of the various committees will be:

Monitoring progress in the Hong Kong/ Shenzhen Joint Working Groups, and as appropriate issuing instructions to the Hong Kong delegations for further meetings of each group.
Monitoring the general development of Hong Kong/Shenzhen relations and taking policy decisions on any new projects not covered by the 1982 agreement (e.g. Shenzhen International Airport and possible Hong Kong involvement therein).
In advance of the 6-monthly review of progress on the 1982 agreement, considering progress in the preceding 6 months and deciding the negotiating instructions for the Political Adviser and the Hong Kong team for the review.

In advance of the annual review of the Border Liaison system, considering progress in the preceding year and deciding the negotiating instructions for the Political Adviser and the Hong Kong team for the review.
Receiving regular reports on the development of Hong Kong/China economic relations and considering policy implications of develop- ments in this field.
(f)
Receiving regular reports from the China Infrastructure and Communications committee and giving policy guidance on the implications of developments in these areas.
