Supplementary to Question No. 5 in the
Legislative Council on 12 June 1985
Mr. P.K. YEUNG:- Sir, if favourable reaction were received from all parties
concerned after wider consultation, how long will the Government take to renovate
the existing premises of the chosen school and what measures will the Government
adopt to locate the students of the five small rural schools during the period
of renovation?
Director of Education:- Sir, at the present time, even if all the parties
2100ths agree to this arrangement, it would take at least six to eight to prepare estimates,
to gain approval of finance and to construct or reconstruct the building. I
think that the earliest we can aim at is September '86 if all parties agree to
this arrangement. In the meantime unless the school is completed the children
will remain where they are in existing schools.
