Sir, in answer to parts (a) and (b) of the question,
the upuated 1964 Rehabilitation Programme Plan figures fur deanu, provision and shortfall are as follows:

Special schools. 5,467 places are required.
In 1985/86 4,290 places will be available.
The planning shortfall is 997. There are 321 stuents on Lducacion Department 'G waiting list.
Work activity centres. 4,190 places are required. In 1983/06 1,140 places will we available, giving a shortfall of 3,043.
Sheltered workshops. The calculacion of
demand is being reviewed. The currenc
known demand for mentally nandicapped.
persons is 2,203. There will be 1,634 such places available in 1985/86, giving
a snortfall of 449.
