at the resumed debate on the Second Reading of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Bill 1985
in the Legislative Council on 3 April 1985
Sir,
I would like to thank Mr. K. C. Chan for his warm
support for this Bill.
I would also like to take this opportunity to mention
that I will be moving Committee Stage amendments to Clause 18
of the Bill. The amendments proposed are of a purely technical
nature and have been drafted, on legal advice, to bring the
wording of Clause 18 of the Bill more in line with that of
Clause 16 and corresponding provisions in the Bankruptcy
No change of substance in the intention of the
Bill is involved.
